What is your age, weight (off season/contest), and height?
I am 32 years old and have been competing since I was 24 years of age. I compete anywhere from 160-165lbs, but I tend to look better or rather I am more effective when I am on the lower end of that range. Off-season I range between 175- and 185 most of the time, but I also tend to start my diet on the lower end of that range. It’s natural bodybuilding, so it’s not just about how much you gain, but how much you keep. This includes both sanity and muscle, so I tend to favor the lighter range of that body weight.
How did you get started in bodybuilding?
I was really intrigued by how people could manipulate their bodies into these extreme states of body composition. Since the age of 19 years of age I haven’t looked back.
Why did you choose to go the Natural route?
Wasn’t always that way I must admit, but I am not ashamed to admit this fact.
I think people are way to infatuated with excess, but I am very pleased with what I have been able to accomplish and will in the coming years without the use of Anabolic Steroids.
What are your views on those that use steroids and other related PED’s?
I am pro choice when it comes to what we do with our own bodies, and this includes PEDs. Just because I am pro natural bodybuilding doesn’t mean I am against enhanced bodybuilding. I am pro choice, but make sure its YOUR own choice and you came to it in a reasonable way.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
Higher frequency, and higher volume cycles. Usually autoregulated when it comes to weight, reps, and sets. I feel that autoregulation is the golden ticket so to speak to long term success.
What is a current example of your workout routine?
Currently I am running a cycle that goes this way:
The last two days are volume days, and the other three days are based around 1-2 big movers, or compound movements with a reasonable amount of volume after. Everything is autoregulated so reps schemes, and number of sets will vary.
What are your future bodybuilding/fitness goals?
In this order…
-To leave the this sport better than I found it
-Win a world championship
-To have a physique that is almost timeless as well as pass along methods that stand the test of time
What is your diet/nutrition like?
Off-season it’s more so about getting food in. Calories have to be around 4,500-4,700 calories in order for me to not lose weight. However, come contest time it’s much more reasonable of an intake.I usually start my diet on 50-60f/400-425c/200-250p and 12-14 weeks later we are there.
